Built from reinvention.

Satin & Smoke was created by Earnest Thomas, known creatively as Thomas Vale—a songwriter, storyteller and longtime operations leader.

After a stroke changed his singing voice, the music did not stop. The vision grew: create a room where live musicians are respected, mature guests feel at home, and every evening carries a story.

Earnest brings nearly two decades of property-management leadership, staff supervision, budgeting, compliance and operational turnaround experience. Thomas Vale brings the soul.

Before your visit

Guest policies

Clear expectations protect every reservation, performance and guest experience.

Reservations, cover charges and cancellations

A cover charge applies at all times. Reservations are confirmed when each guest's cover is paid. Cover is admission, not a reservation fee.
Tables have a 15-minute grace period.
Cover is nonrefundable. Cancel 48+ hours ahead for a 30-day visit credit; later cancellations and no-shows forfeit payment.
Satin & Smoke cancellations receive a refund or credit.

VIP, romance and celebration reservations

VIP and Dinner for Two reservations require full payment and have a 20-minute grace period. Cancel 72+ hours ahead for a 60-day credit.
The Proposal & Romantic Occasion Experience requires advance booking, a deposit and direct coordination with the house manager. Specialty flowers, professional photography and other upgrades may cost more.
Celebration packages require a 50% deposit; balance due seven days ahead. Cancel 7+ days ahead for a 60-day credit.
Final celebration guest count is due 72 hours ahead. Décor requires approval; no confetti, glitter, open flames or wall damage.

Tickets and private events

Tickets are nonrefundable but transferable. No credit for late arrival or no-show. Date changes allow a refund; lounge cancellations receive a full refund.
Private events require a signed agreement and 50% deposit; balance due 14 days ahead.
Private-event cancellations 30+ days ahead receive a six-month credit. Within 30 days the deposit is forfeited; within 14 days all payments are forfeited.

Age, identification and dress code

Regular service is 21+. Valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID is required; photos, copies and expired IDs are not accepted.
Dress is upscale casual to evening attire. No athletic shorts, sweats, pajamas, house slippers, undershirts, gym wear, work boots, offensive graphics or baseball caps.
Dressy jeans and clean fashionable sneakers are welcome when the outfit is polished. Rules are applied consistently and without discrimination.

Conduct, smoking and re-entry

Fighting, threats, harassment, unwanted touching, property damage or disruption results in removal without refund.
Management may refuse alcohol service. Smoking and vaping are prohibited indoors. No outside food, beverages or alcohol.
Same-night re-entry requires verified admission and may be suspended for capacity or safety.

Photography and recording

Personal photos and short videos are allowed unless announced otherwise; no flash during performances.
Professional equipment, full-song recordings and livestreaming require written approval.
Do not block aisles, service paths, the stage or another guest's view.

Payments, gratuity and split checks

Major cards, contactless payments and limited cash are accepted. Open tabs require a valid card and are charged at closing.
A 20% gratuity applies to parties of six or more, VIP and celebration packages, and private events.
Tables of five or fewer may request up to two checks before ordering. Larger parties and packages use one check; multiple cards may divide one final bill evenly.
